Majid Hussain was one of the most influential Indian geographers. He was a mentor, a teacher and was a friend to thousands of youths. His was quite popular among Civil Services aspirants. The doyen of Indian geography, Majid Sir, breathed his last on 24th January in New Delhi.


Majid Hussaid was recently associated with a coaching institute in Delhi. He used to run his own coaching for Geography, which he later closed. His books – Particularly Indian Geography by McGraw Hill, remained the best book for Geography section of General Studies paper.

Thousands of IAS and IPS are currently working in India who were taught by Majid Sir.
