Dr. Vinay Goyal is a 2016 batch IAS officer of Kerala Cadre. He is currently posted as the Assistant Collector of Thrissur. In a very short span of time as an IAS officer, he has made a mark and being applauded for positive change he is bringing in the district.



Dr. Vinay Goyal stole the limelight when he became the first ever IAS officer to be on the Hot Seat in Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. IAS officers are known for their acumen and strong grip on General Knowledge. However, this was the first time when an officer went there. Dr. Vinay played very well and Amitabh Bachchan got deeply impressed by his brilliance and presence of mind.

Educational Qualification: He had completed MBBS from PGIMS, Rohtak in 2013. After working as a Medical Officer for six months, he started preparation for UPSC Civil Services Examination. He cracked the exam in his first attempt in 2014 with All India Rank of 628. He again appeared in the next year and got AIR 79 thereby getting his first choice of services, IAS.
